LONDON ASSEMBLY ELECTION RESULTS

Vote shares for the London Assembly party list:

🔴 Labour: 38.4% (+0.3)
🔵 Conservatives: 26.2% (-4.5)
🟢 Greens: 11.6% (-0.2)
🟠 Liberal Democrats: 8.7% (+1.4)
⚪ Reform UK: 5.9% (+4.9)
⚫ Others: 9.2%

That increase Reform UK vote share means they picked up the assembly seat lost by the Conservatives, otherwise the Lib Dems would have got it.

Count Binface urges Sadiq Khan to adopt his policies: "He said he was pleased with his share of the vote having beaten the far-Right party Britain First, and hoped Mr Khan would adopt some of his policies"

Starting to wonder if Labour was doing great expectations management on Sadiq Khan, because looks like he's strolling home as polls forecast (vs rumors and vibes yesterday)

Other explanation is typical Tory over confidence vs Labour doom-and-gloomism ever since 1992

Good morning political nerds. Starting point for the day (102/107 councils declared) ...

🗳️ LibDems 🟠 now have more local councillors than the Tories

🗳️ Green Party 🌳 gains being under-reported (especially vs Reform)

🗳️ MSM politicos projecting local election results into the GE2024 should know far better. It's misinformation, for many reasons

Blackpool South parliamentary by-election, result:

🔴 LAB: 58.9% (+20.6)
🔵 CON: 17.5% (-32.1)
⚪ REF: 16.9% (+10.7)
🟠 LDEM: 2.1% (-1.0)
🟢 GRN: 2.0% (+0.3)

Labour GAIN from Conservative.

Reform nearly beating the Tories into second with 16.9% will mean alarm bells in CCHQ ...

Dylan Difford @Dylan_Difford, one of my favorite indie pollsters - on the Blackpool by-election result from the other place

"Blackpool South by-election - 26.3pt swing is 7pts greater than the seat in MRP averages, 10pts higher than national polls and, most crucially, larger than my graphic was designed for"

For those who think Reform UK is a pure right wing party and if Reform didn't exist they'd mainly vote Tory, detailed polling done says this is FAR from the case -

Editted for the 2024 local elections:

Taps the sign for the press tomorrow, and waits for false Tory narratives to begin
