Count Binface urges Sadiq Khan to adopt his policies: "He said he was pleased with his share of the vote having beaten the far-Right party Britain First, and hoped Mr Khan would adopt some of his policies"
Dylan Difford @Dylan_Difford, one of my favorite indie pollsters - on the Blackpool by-election result from the other place
"Blackpool South by-election - 26.3pt swing is 7pts greater than the seat in MRP averages, 10pts higher than national polls and, most crucially, larger than my graphic was designed for"
So glad the rumour that Johnson got turned away from a polling station for lack of photo ID is actually true. Hilarious. Reportedly the fool thought an envelope with his name and address on would do.
A happy voting day to all who celebrate. Or to all who have a vote. And who haven't already voted.
(And please do vote if you have something to vote on! Local elections do matter. The things that councils, mayoral authorities etc do really does have a direct impact on so many things - education, parks, roads, libraries, museums, leisure centres, housing, planning, taxes, public transport, and so on. It genuinely is important, even if the national political media don't care.)
(And I'm sure that voting for PCCs is also important in, um, some way or other. Can't say I've ever wholly understood the point of them. But still, vote!)
Good point about voting. Many fought, died, were imprisoned or transported for the right to vote and be represented. We owe it to their memory, even if it is something seemingly less important like the PCCs.
Here in Wales, we only have PCCs, but this is the first opportunity I've had to vote since we came to Wales two years ago and I will use it.
For those who think Reform UK is a pure right wing party and if Reform didn't exist they'd mainly vote Tory, detailed polling done says this is FAR from the case -
