NevadaWolf , 2 months ago to random White-faced ibis are such pretty birds when the sunlight is hitting them just right. So many colors beyond the rust brown one usually sees. #LahontanValley #ChurchillCounty #Nevada #Birds #Birding #BirdWatching #Wildlife #NaturePhotography #WildlifePhotography #BirdPhotography #BirdsOfMastodon #WhiteFacedIbis A group of four white-faced ibis in a green field with dandelions. The middle bird has it's left wing held up, though beginning to bring is down to tuck it against the brown body. The position reveals the long curved grey bill, white outlined red eye, dark rust brown head and chest, dull green shoulders under the wing, and iridescent primary feathers gleaming in the sunlight. The arm bone is clearly visible at this angle. A group of four white-faced ibis in a green field with dandelions. Three of the four have their bills tucked under a wing, though all their eyes are open so they are not asleep. The fourth is using its long curved bill to preen some feathers. The three who are tucked in are each facing a different direction, so the picture reveals the green iridescent head feathers, the rust brown neck and chest, the white outlined red face, and the pink, green, and purple wing and tail feathers when viewed from the left side (top left bird), right side (bottom left bird), and front (top right bird).
