"Al-Qassam Brigades announce the targeting of enemy soldiers and vehicles in the Al-Taqaddum axis in Al-Shaboura camp in central Rafah"
The resistance is able to get so close to the IOF vehicles. They record their missions and, if we see them, they have got back to base safely. There are hundreds of such videos posted by Qassam.
Heute vor 80 Jahren wurde der bedeutende französische #Historiker Marc Bloch wegen Beteiligung in der #Résistance von einem #Gestapo-Kommando bei #Lyon erschossen.
As Jesse Gilbert and I discuss in our new book THE SECRET LIFE OF DATA, data #surveillance of #labor is an ongoing cat-and-mouse game with new and innovative forms of #resistance and counter-resistance emerging every day.
I've only read a few Palestinian prisoners stories and I have to stop each time. I'm usually one who can sit and read for hours. It's devastating but necessary reading - we MUST get these stories to as many eyes as possible.
"During his speech at the conference held in Beirut, the movement’s leader affirmed that Al-Aqsa Flood had raised the Palestinian issue to an unprecedented level globally and opened the door to the recognition of the rights of the Palestinian people. Haniyeh expressed that the most important right is the Palestinian right to their own state on their land: “Which is what all diplomatic and political efforts have failed to do.”"
'Bitter truth' is 'Israel' near 'strategic defeat': Ex-Israeli MK
"Haim Ramon, a former Knesset member who served for over 30 years, said that the War Cabinet and Israeli General Staff "have been misleading the public" since the war began, but now it is time to "reveal the bitter truth" as war cabinet members blame each other for the "strategic defeat" in the war"
"Ahmad Abu Khater, 34, lives in Jabalia, and did not leave the camp at any point since the start of the war. He told Mondoweiss that he witnessed Israeli soldiers enter dozens of demolished homes that had been bombed by Israeli aircraft in advance, and he saw those same homes explode after the soldiers had entered"
IOF simply unable to carry out urban warfare. Gaza will be their graveyard.
'Monsters exist, but they are far too few in number to be truly dangerous; the most dangerous monsters are ordinary men, functionaries ready to believe and obey without discussion.'

‘The problem is not disobedience, it is obedience.’

‘The real question is not to know why people rebel, but why they don’t rebel.’

Disobey The Philosophy of Resistance by Frédéric Gros
In this provocative essay, Frédéric Gros explores the roots of political obedience. Social conformity, economic subjection, respect for authorities, constitutional consensus? Examining the various styles of obedience provides tools to study, invent and induce new forms of civic disobedience and protest.
Resistance bombs Tel Aviv, continues to confront IOF in Jabalia
"The Al-Qassam Brigades confirmed that they targeted: five tanks, two military bulldozers, and an Israeli troop carrier, with al-Yassin 105 and Tandem shells, and Shawaz and Guerilla Action devices, in the “Block 2” and al-Dakhiliyah Street area in the Jabalia camp, north of the Gaza Strip"
You can see the resistance videos on Jon Elmer's X (uncut) or Youtube feed.
West Bank Wall graffiti art in Bethlehem: Handala and Liberty as "Pietà".
An iconic symbol of Palestinian identity and defiance. The character has been described as "portraying war, resistance, and the Palestinian identity with astounding clarity".
A couple of posts to introduce a really good broadcast from the Electronic Intifada. Link on the second post.
Israel is trying to continue a war of attrition with the Palestinian resistance, a war that they are losing. If you watch the resistance videos (X, Youtube), you'll see a confident armed, experienced resistance that is far from being annihilated as the IOF would like you to think.
The IOF kills civilians, but they’re no good at fighting ...

Today in Labor History, May 16: Romani Resistance Day, commemorating the Roma people who fought the fascists during World War II. The date was chosen due to a Holocaust survivor stating that on 16 May 1944, there was a rebellion of Roma detainees at the Auschwitz Birkenau concentration camp. However subsequent research by the Auschwitz Museum discovered that this date was most likely incorrect. It was actually in early April that a number of Roma prisoners refused orders from the SS to leave to work in Germany. Instead, a Polish prisoner was ordered to make a list of Roma able to work to be transported later. By 2 August 1944, those Roma able to work had been transported elsewhere, when the SS came to take the others to the gas chambers. The prisoners armed themselves with crowbars and fought back, but were eventually overcome and gassed. And just a few days ago, The European Committee for Social Rights (ECSR) unanimously concluded that Italy’s new fascism government was violating the European Social Charter as regards the housing rights of the Roma, 15,000 of whom are currently living in shanty towns on the margins of big cities such as Rome, Milan and Naples.
Palestinian Resistance factions engage IOF in Askalan, Jabalia, Rafah
My note: An embedded video shows the hits. It's not only the Qassam Brigade in action but also al-Quds and al-Aqsa Martyrs. They are operational all over Gaza. We'll never know the real number of IOF casualties, both men and vehicles. As long as there's occupation, there's resistance. Netanyahu and his military know that very well. No victory for them.
Today in Labor History May 13, 1960: San Francisco Police violently attacked university students who were nonviolently protesting HUAC (House Un-American Committee) hearings. After protesters were denied entrance to the meeting, police attacked and swept them out of City Hall's rotunda and down the stairs with fire hoses. 12 people hospitalized (including eight police, mostly from exhaustion). 64 were arrested. Charges were dropped against all but one, who was acquitted in a jury trial. The hearings were led by the infamous Joe McCarthy. They would come into union towns like Chicago, San Francisco and Seattle, and issue subpoenas to all the progressives and radicals in the town, especially union leaders, many of whom were communists, or had communist ties. The only defense was to take the Fifth Amendment. The consequence of that was that you would usually lose your job, your name would be plastered in the papers, and your kids would be mistreated in school. Alternatively, you could take the First, like the Hollywood Ten did. For that, you’d be held in contempt of court sent to prison.
