#Brazil’s Supreme Court on Tuesday voted to decriminalize possession of #marijuana for personal use, making the nation one of Latin America’s last to do so, in a move that could reduce its massive prison population.
Anti-marijuana propaganda is alive & well in mainstream news.
This article says that 𝘥𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘺 marijuana use has overtaken 𝘥𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘺 drinking in the US. It then goes on to mention the health risks of “high-frequency” (i.e., daily) marijuana usage.
It conveniently fails to mention how daily drinking can have an extremely negative impact on one’s health (I doubt most daily drinkers are just having a single glass of wine each day).
Finally! After 50 years of draconian pot laws, #cannabis will be moved off of the Drug Enforcement Administration's very restrictive Schedule I ('no medical use') & #Biden admin will move to Schedule III.
This is a BFD. Activists spent so much time and energy working for this.
“US Drug Enf Admin will move to reclassify #marijuana as a less dangerous drug, The Associated Press has learned, a historic shift to generations of American drug policy that could have wide ripple-effects across the country.
DEA’s proposal, which must be reviewed by WH Office of Mgmt & Budget, would recognize the medical uses of cannabis & acknowledge it has less potential for abuse than..most dangerous drugs…would not legalize marijuana outright for recreational use”
I've been meaning to hop on Fallout 76 for a couple hours now....but then I started smoking about an hour ago. Now, I'm really high and listening to the soundtrack instead of playing the game. :kek:
He wasn't wrong! Allen Ginsberg at a rally circa 1964 for LEMAR, the first organization in America to fight for the legalization of #marijuana. Photo by Benedict Fernandez. Thanks so much to poet Danny Shot for this poster, featured at a recent tribute to Allen organized by Danny in Hoboken called Memory Gardens featuring Eliot Katz, Bob Rosenthal.
