"[Trump's] inability to read was part of a set of childhood behaviors including impulse control and attention that today would very likely have been identified as a ADHD learning disability, and treated. As an adult he has turned relative illiteracy into a selling point for a crowd of Americans who have decided that democracy means ignorance is as good as knowledge.
@gentrifiedrose Unfortunately, a lot of US citizens seem to have been sold a bill of goods about education, or to have sold themselves a bill of goods about education, and that results in bad choices to refuse opportunities for further education. In part, this is a fault of an educational system that does not work hard to instill a desire for lifelong education in those it educates. And I often think this is all by design, in order to slot some people as worker bees.
"Protesters screaming 'Free Palestine' ambush Easter Vigil at St Patrick's Cathedral."
Peace inside the cathedral quickly devolved into chaos as demonstrators with Extinction Rebellion NYC's Palestinian Solidarity group swarmed into the church.
Well, that's certainly going to improve the Islamophobia situation in christianity. /s
Seriously though, using simulated terrorists tactics to harass people in America is stupid. Now everyone in that church knows what Oct 7th was really like, having terrorists invade your event. They had no way of knowing they weren't all about to be shot in a mass shooting when they were "swarmed." I doubt it's going to make them sympathetic.

"Ignorance" and the Middle East. Deconstructing the present through its past.
Dr. Lorenzo Kamel (Harvard University), December 8, 2016
"The region’s history and spatial background provide a framework for approaching these epochal shifts and critically examining the ‘ethnic stabilisation’ thesis, which interprets current demographic movements as a kind of normalization of the region’s ‘original’ demographics. Instead of this ‘medievalization of the Middle East’, many people in the region are keen on ‘getting back into history’ and ‘regaining possession’ of their multifaceted past: a powerful antidote to “ignorance” and the related geopolitical reductionism so popular nowadays."
"Once people start banning dictionaries, they’ve moved beyond any pretense of protecting children—which they still haven’t proved book banning in any way does. ...
The situation seems to be that people who aren’t very smart want to prevent others from becoming smarter than them. Certainly, we can’t accept such a low bar for our children."
