Long-lost Assyrian military camp devastated by ‘the angel of the Lord’ finally found, scientist claims

At the British Museum in London, there is a relief depicting the siege of Lachish, and it shows the Assyrian camp. Stephen Compton, an independent scholar who specializes in Near Eastern Archaeology, compared this relief to photos from the early to mid-20th century which show Lachish. He identified a site north of Lachish with an oval shaped structure with walls that he thinks may have been the Assyrians’ camp.

Can someone who speaks verify translation of this post? I don't know the account (not on that platform for years) and don't trust anything coming from there, especially something this outrageous and unbelievable.

On @N12News Israel's most watched news show, former MP Moshe Feiglin invokes Hitler to justify Gaza resettlement:"As said, 'I cannot live if one Jew is left,' we can't live here if one 'Islamo-nazi' remains in ."

/ Ynet struggles to keep up with IDF's war crimes

Following the massacre in a UN school that killed scores of Gazan, Ynet, a propaganda bot, unexpectedly developed self-awareness. Maybe they grew conscious that merely parroting statements from the IDF spokesperson's office does not constitute journalism?

When confronted with hugely conflicting reports on yet another massacre, the approach taken to maintain a veneer of respectability (assuming they care…) is to report on the media's reporting itself. This way Ynet can still force its readers toward the IDF's sanctioned version, though their only tool seems to be labeling any contradictory accounts as the "Palestinian narrative," and prefixing any mention of Hamas as "the terrorist organization."

[…] The IDF, let us recall, said that it would release the names of the militants who were killed later on - but at this stage, it has not yet presented evidence that militants were present in the compound, which adds to the echo of the Palestinian narrative. In the past, the IDF has attacked numerous UNRWA compounds throughout the Gaza Strip, but has presented evidence in return that terrorist activities were also taking place in the agency's schools and facilities. [end of translation]

Indeed, regarding the latest incident, the IDF claimed it would release the names of the militants killed, but has yet to present evidence that militants were actually present in the compound, which Ynet’s correspondent notes justly, only amplifies the “Palestinian narrative.” So far though the IDF has attacked numerous UNRWA compounds in the Gaza Strip, asserting that terrorist activities occurred in the agency's schools and facilities, without providing substantial proof.

Ultimately though, the editor did give up and simply copy-pasted the IDF's version verbatim.

The decision to bomb a crowded displaced camp in order to kill two Hamas activists needs to be investigated by the International Criminal Court.

These investigations, as they are ongoing, deal with details and not mainly - decision makers and policy makers, the political rank and command that outlines the policies of attacking citizens, widespread destruction and population starvation have not been investigated and will not be investigated by israel
Following the global shock of the widespread killing in the camp, the Prime Minister, IDF spokesman and chief military prosecutor said that israel will investigate the events.
The Chief Military Prosecutor said the incident would be investigated by the "Chief Investigation Mechanism", a body Israel established after previous investigative mechanisms it was operating were found to not meet the most basic standards – of effectiveness, professionalism, objective, and transparency. In fact, it is another cover up tool.
As documented in studies by Bt'Selem and other human rights organizations, investigations of this kind are intended to create a false representation of internal investigation, in order to prevent the International Criminal Court from intervening and independently investigating the events.
Bt'Selem explained and fished that Israel does not want and can't investigate its actions in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. For example in the report "cover-up procedure" that examined their alleged investigation of the events of Zuk Eitan: btselem.org/hebrew/press_relea… (in #Hebrew)

Anybody here doing ? What tools do you use?
I just stopped mid-word because I got so frustrated with this unforgiving ink and clotty quill.
For the tools I had at hand a decent first try though ...

Hebrew wasn’t spoken for 2,000 years. Here’s how it was revived.

In the 19th century, most Jews in Europe were still second-class citizens when a new movement emerged that looked to Hebrew as a way to inspire hope through the Jewish people’s glorious past, Reuveny says. Hebrew revivalists wanted to expand the language beyond the abstract concepts in the Bible—they wanted to use it to talk about modern events, politics, philosophy, and medicine.

The extent to which the worship of Baal and Asherah affected Israel’s understanding of Yahweh is seen in the inscriptions found at Kuntillet Ajrud. Jezebel was not fully responsible for the ongoing worship of Canaanite deities in Israel and Judah but her reign gave legitimacy to the long held tendency.

#Zionism & #Nazism share so much more than just theory of #Eugenics, #BankOfEngland funds, and inhumane treatment of #HumanAnimals. Ethnic cleansing was mentioned quite often in other words on #hebrew TV, while the investigation of #ICJ continues to gather more evidence on the intention of #genocide in @palestine. Arthur Ruppin University is manufacturing consent on strict immigration today and haven't changed that much from the original #ZioNazi ideology.

/ ""Occupation, Expulsion, Settlement"...

Israeli soldiers reminding themselves of their mission statement: "occupation, expulsion, settlement" - effectively describing . Is this IDF's actual mission in Gaza?

At least, it should raise concerning questions. If this is what SOME soldiers believe their role to be, how does it impact their treatment of the local Palestinian population? Does it translate into a mentality of killing as many as possible?

The soldier's use of the name for the month also suggests he likely comes from the nationalist-religious camp. This segment of the population is known for a zealous ideological commitment to settling all of historic .

So both the words expressed and background of the soldier point to an extremely troubling mindset among a portion of troops tasked with engaging with Palestinians. A mindset that at its core endorses and perpetrates systemic ethnic cleansing.

/ The "Pink Book"

This "arrest form" speaks for itself, but for those who don't read - the Israeli police is still tracking and profiling LGBTQ individuals, checked in the form for "sexual deviations".

This forgotten practice (possibly illegal) is still occurring in Israel in 2024, a country often touted by pro-Israel advocates as the only safe haven for LGBTQ people in the Middle East.

Considering Israel's propaganda on LGBTQ rights versus the ongoing surveillance of the LGBTQ community, the hypocrisy is glaring.

The Israeli Police stated in response: "These are parameters that in the past were required for the optimal protection of detainees and prevention of harm to them during their detention. Following your inquiry, the matter was brought for thorough discussion at the end of which it was decided to remove the parameter from the existing structured form, and we emphasize that this was not information that was stored. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and regret any hurt caused to the feelings of those involved, if there was any."

/ The fact the world is missing is that threatening to ban Israel from participating in the Eurovision Song Contest, would have had much bigger impact than any ruling against it. Israelis are addicted to attention, and pity.

Feel bad for Eden Golan. Representing Israel while your country is standing accused of must be morally challenging for her … or maybe not?

Q: How are you preparing for the public diplomacy [hasbara] front?

[…] I'm planning a huge and powerful Eurovision number. I want to show everyone how strong we are.

[…] I have a huge team behind me that will help me, that will get me ready for this. All we need to do is bring our truth. I will bring this truth, because we have nothing to hide.

Note to self: “having nothing to hide” is the literally the antonym of 🙈 … maybe her is not that great?
