/ Ynet struggles to keep up with IDF's war crimes

Following the massacre in a UN school that killed scores of Gazan, Ynet, a propaganda bot, unexpectedly developed self-awareness. Maybe they grew conscious that merely parroting statements from the IDF spokesperson's office does not constitute journalism?

When confronted with hugely conflicting reports on yet another massacre, the approach taken to maintain a veneer of respectability (assuming they care…) is to report on the media's reporting itself. This way Ynet can still force its readers toward the IDF's sanctioned version, though their only tool seems to be labeling any contradictory accounts as the "Palestinian narrative," and prefixing any mention of Hamas as "the terrorist organization."

[…] The IDF, let us recall, said that it would release the names of the militants who were killed later on - but at this stage, it has not yet presented evidence that militants were present in the compound, which adds to the echo of the Palestinian narrative. In the past, the IDF has attacked numerous UNRWA compounds throughout the Gaza Strip, but has presented evidence in return that terrorist activities were also taking place in the agency's schools and facilities. [end of translation]

Indeed, regarding the latest incident, the IDF claimed it would release the names of the militants killed, but has yet to present evidence that militants were actually present in the compound, which Ynet’s correspondent notes justly, only amplifies the “Palestinian narrative.” So far though the IDF has attacked numerous UNRWA compounds in the Gaza Strip, asserting that terrorist activities occurred in the agency's schools and facilities, without providing substantial proof.

Ultimately though, the editor did give up and simply copy-pasted the IDF's version verbatim.
