A group of 20 prominent human rights organisations has issued a statement denouncing the failure of world leaders to act even as Israel’s invasion of Rafah “worsens the humanitarian catastrophe” in Gaza.

The statement said third countries “have the responsibility to urgently act in bringing to an end, and pursue accountability for the grave breaches of international humanitarian law” taking place in Gaza.

Pogrom 'Underscores Urgent Need to Dismantle Apartheid': Amnesty

"The appalling spike in settler violence against Palestinians in recent days is part of a decades-long state-backed campaign to dispossess, displace, and oppress Palestinians in the occupied West Bank," said one official.

Horrifying eyewitness reports of torture and mistreatment by israeli police and military by Palestinians released from the draconian Israeli detention

Israel since many years ago, Israeli police and occupation forces can grab and imprison Palestinians without ever charging thrm.

During their detention, they can't have access to legal help nor visit by outside organizations such as Red Cross or Red Cresent, much less human rights organizations.

The testimonies of these people are the top of an iceberg of people who were subjected to the most barbaric type of torture, both physical and psychological and various types of mistreatments including sleep deprivation and starvation.

Almost every human rights organization in the world has loads of such testimonies, including autopsy reports of those who were killed under torture, something that was blocked after Israeli government stopped releasing the bodies of the Palestinians who died in their custody.

Videos are in Arabic with no subtitles, but I will update them when such are available.

Today in Labor History February 23, 1903: Jean-Baptiste Clement died. Clement was a socialist and Paris Communard, poet, singer and composer of the famous song, “The Time of Cherries.” He was one of the last on the barricades during the Commune. He escaped and fled to England. The French authorities condemned him to death, in absentia. They later granted him amnesty and he returned to France in 1879. He helped found the Revolutionary Socialist Workers Party in 1890. Paris has since named schools and a street after him.

#IsraelUsaHamasWar / Humanitarian agencies and human rights organizations issue urgent joint statement on Rafah

Humanitarian agencies and human rights organizations have issued an urgent joint statement warning of "catastrophic" consequences if Israel launches a ground offensive in Rafah, Gaza. They also criticize the silence and material support for Israel's operations by powerful nations.

The statement was signed by CEOs of #Oxfam, #Amnesty International, #ActionAid, War Child, Danish Refugee Council, and Handicap International.

The statement says over 1.5 million people are sheltering in #Rafah as a last resort, with over half a million of them children. A ground offensive would kill thousands more civilians.

They accuse #Israel of forcibly displacing people to Rafah and then planning to attack it, as well as collectively punishing civilians by denying aid.

The statement also refers to a recent #ICJ ruling ordering Israel to prevent genocide in Gaza and allow humanitarian aid, which has not happened. It calls for an immediate ceasefire, release of detainees, and full humanitarian access to Gaza.

The agencies say the offensive has made it virtually impossible to deliver humanitarian aid in Gaza.
