That's really important, because software projects do go bad sometimes, and if there's a compatible Fediverse alternative you can go there instead without leaving the network. I would say Lemmy has already gone bad (https://mstdn.social/@feditips/106835057054633379) so I'm glad to see another alternative being developed.
