Travelling to the UK by train today.
First train: delayed by 10 minutes on departure due to passengers with huge suitcases all trying to enter the train simultaneously through the same narrow door. Now we’ve departed: screaming kids, loud conversations and cramped seats.
At times like this I particularly miss the Shinkansen…
@rieder I found the seats at least reasonably comfortable, but I was also treated to the shrill voice of a woman a couple of seats away and can tell you she uses a Verizon plan on her American phone and doesn’t understand roaming. Or the distance across the channel.
@elizabethtasker the “London” Eurostar train is definitely more comfy than the “Thalys” Eurostar train. On the second one now. Empty seat next to me, yay!
