Went for a final hike at MacRitchie reservoir this morning, hoping to see monitor lizards, terrapins, sting rays, all kinds of fish, skinks, snakes and macaques. Saw a monitor, plenty fish and terrapins, and one macaque, pissing while too high up in a tree to capture the act on camera.

On my way home, I decided to take a small detour and walk along the Ulu Pandan canal, again hoping to spot monitors, terrapins, fish, birds and maybe even otters.

Wasn’t disappointed. Aside from plenty monitors, fish and terrapins, I saw two kingfishers and three otters!

Two otters in the water, next to the opening to the draining sewage pipe. One is inside the pipe, eating an orange fish. The other is in the water right in front of the pipe, eating a silvery fish. View is partially blocked by foliage.
