I may have named my daughter after her. Nov, 1970. Our first child. I was in delivery room. It is an incredible, overwhelming experience. I looked at her and the name Melanie Anne popped into my head. I said it to my wife; she liked it; went with it. I was not thinking of a person to name her after. Just liked the way the syllables flowed and it was not a common name like all our female family elders.
@GottaLaff Aww, darn. I was a huge fan, back in the day. I gotta say that I always hated that roller-skate song, which as far as I remember was her one breakthrough into commercial pop AM radio. But she wrote so much other great stuff. I still sing "who will draw a ring around the moon" quietly to myself every time I see one of those rings.
