The power of self-delusion is phenomenal. They can't believe things are really this bad, so they just edit out all the evidence and substitute it with a fantasy that good people are in charge really trying to do the right thing.
If the blatantly obvious attack and murder of the World Central Kitchen workers, and the half assed fake response from the Biden administration, doesn't show people what the reality is, there is no hope
If people can't admit what we're doing, why do they think that anyone will listen to them about anything?
The people who understand what's happening and are vile enough to still think it's fine are vastly outnumbered by people who WOULD be outraged IF they let themselves recognize that it's really happening.
They think incidents like this have to be a mistake. Very unfortunate. Israel is investigating, and whoever messed up will surely be punished. Just assume the right thing is being done because anything less seems implausibly deranged. Fingers in ears, head in sand lalalala. These are the people who make up the bulk of the system's inertia, shielding it with the armor of their ignorance and fear. Swallowing the propagandized narratives that are more palatable than real horrors. It would be accurate to call them cowards or sheep, but I usually don't bother since yelling names at them usually just drives them deeper into the folds of the status quo's skirts.
I just pray that there are ENOUGH people waking up and standing up that logistically we can't ALL be black-bagged away when the veneer of civility finally breaks and things get ugly. Scary part is how much practice the war profiteers have at this-- for example 1-3 million killed/disappeared in Indonesia with the onset of the Jakarta Method in the 60s, which was considered a very successful cull of leftism there... the population at the time was about 100 million.
Now they have all this "AI" and surveillance to analyze our behavior and identify anybody talking like this-- like I am right now-- and put us on a list. Maybe they'll sic the Republicans on us first, but building the infrastructure training the goons and buying the tools like what's being used on Palestinians right now is a very bipartisan endeavor.
The worst shitlibs will shake fingers at us and scold us and turn us in for dissent and keep believing the bluer authoritarians will reward and rescue them and definitely not eat their faces too. I'm sick of arguing with the libs but if I can figure out ANYTHING that can get a clue through to any of them it's worth it.
