I’ve been listening to “Sticky” by @LaurieWinkless and it’s really good! I’ve got to tell you about the “bubble cathedrals/ architecture” Basically, the leaves of Salvina, a water fern are permanently submerged and yet they remain dry. No one could come close to emulating this until they noticed the leaves have both hydrophilic & hydrophobic patches. Effectively shaping the air bubbles into arches. A kind of negative architecture of air! (image not from the book)
