@GottaLaff Appears to be a win for DeSantis. Lawsuits dropped by both sides, and Disney subject to new oversight board.

@GottaLaff looks like Disney pretty much caved. DeSantis can mark that up pretty much of a win. WTF Disney.

I'll bet New Mexico would love to house a Disneyworld in their state!

Huh. Nothing in the AP article about what's exactly IN the settlement.

De Santis not disclosing the settlement terms makes me think about a complete and horrible defeat.

Eh, I wanna see the fine print. Disney has some of the most dangerous lawyers in the universe. They wouldn't give away the farm.

@ralfmaximus @pthenq1 "..Disney lets stand a determination by board of DeSantis-appointees that comprehensive plan approved by Disney supporters before takeover are null/void. Disney also agrees that development agreement & restrictive covenants passed before takeover also not valid..
Instead a comprehensive plan from 2020 will be used w new board able to make changes to it & agreement suggests Disney & new board will negotiate new development agreement in near future" https://www.ctvnews.ca/business/settlement-reached-in-lawsuit-between-florida-gov-ron-desantis-allies-and-disney-1.6824228

@pthenq1 @ralfmaximus "Under the terms of the settlement announced on Wednesday, Disney agreed not to challenge the oversight board's view that the land use plan adopted by the previous board, in the waning days of its oversight of Walt Disney World, is invalid." Reuters

Wow. Maybe they just decided it was time to move on? Kiss and make up?

The thing that irritates me is that Reedy Creek was staffed by experts in theme park infrastructure, whereas the replacement entity is fully staffed by DeSantis sycophants without relevant experience.

@GottaLaff
Waiting for more details on settlement terms. And DeSantis preferred the quiet option to take the L.
