@wdlindsy IIRC correctly from my time in ranching country, that looks like the average Stetson worn mostly by ranch owners when they go out to social occasions, dinner or Sunday brunch, etc., Also liked by 'all hat no cattle types'. Working cowboys wore more working style hats, taller, more rounded with broader brims. Ranch hands would wear something in between, similar in size to the fancy ass Stetson, but flatter and with a smaller brim, and often straw. IIRC
