@drewharwell why would you need redundant accounts, when you already have the original Mastodon account? Can the the Threads users not follow your original account?

@drewharwell @Bam @randahl I'd question whether this incentive to create an account on was an intended effect.

Edit: I think fedi users should consider blocking people who make this "bargain".

@tasket @drewharwell @Bam @randahl It most definitely IS an intended effect. Though, it's a mutual effect for Fedi as well. I'm sure there's gonna be a non-zero number of Threads users who haven't heard of Fedi that will make an account to check it out.
