Can you watch the new X-Men '97 show without having watched the original cartoon series?

@Tim_Eagon
I think so. I mean, you just jump right into the action, but there's a YouTube video called 'Last Time on X-men...' that should clear any questions up.

@Tim_Eagon I'd say that depends on your general knowledge of lore. If you're completely new, then you might be lost. If you're passingly familiar with the comics and can accept deviations (mutations? 😂) from the comics, you'll be good.

@JessicaAnnEng I got a passing familiarity, especially the 80s storylines since I played TSR's Marvel Superheroes RPG.

@Tim_Eagon You could probably be fine. Maybe watch a recap video off of YouTube if you want the full experience. The TV show got me into the comics. I say give it a whirl regardless. It definitely has the nostalgia thing going for it.

@JessicaAnnEng I have started missing the 90s a lot...

@Tim_Eagon Yes*

*Knowing some of the 80s/90s X-Men storylines, if you haven't watched the 90s series, is probably going to help out a bit.

@WhatDoIKnowJR I'm familiar with many of those storylines!

@Tim_Eagon They get remixed a bit, but the bones are there, and will probably communicate the crux of what they are presenting.

@WhatDoIKnowJR Cool, I'll probably check them out in the near future.
