I feel many focus way too hard on the “railroad” aspect of TTRPGs vs the aggrandized sanctity of sandboxes. To me, a sandbox is nothing more than an illusionary railroad just with a lot track switches along the way. I don’t really care how I get there as long as I enjoy the ride.
