Something I don't see pointed out in all these “the US just sent $X millions in weapons to Ukraine" is that the money was already spent.
We're not going to the defense contractor shopping mall to pick up some missiles and bombs for a friend with our credit card. It's more like we're raiding our backyard shed for tools to let the neighbor borrow.
