Supreme Court to weigh #Trump immunity, keeps D.C. trial on hold— Bloomberg #SCOTUS
“Supreme Court to decide Trump’s immunity claim in election interference case
“Even if the justices ultimately rule against Trump, the court’s intervention adds a further delay, meaning his trial will not start for weeks, if not months.
Drat! I was afraid sCOTUS MIGHT want to put their imprint on such an important matter as presidential immunity for crimes committed while in office.
I’d hoped that the DC Circuit panel saying its ruling that trump doesn’t have immunity in the Jan 6 case is sui generis might appease sCOTUS & they’d let it stand.
The thing is, I get nervous when THIS sCOTUS wants to leave their imprint on any case!
Really, how difficult is it to figure out that the only logical answer to "I'm a king, above the law forever!" is "No, you're not."
(Well, not the ONLY logical answer, but "Bailiff, off with his head!" isn't a thing in our system.)
#ClarenceThomas's #RV and the open road call loudest to him in the #summer months. Does anyone know if it's okay for him (and Ginni) to phone this one in to #SCOTUS?
@GottaLaff all the arm chair liberal legal super lawyers who went on pontificating that it's so so unlikely the SC will take this.... Again are shown to have no idea how the real world MAGA SC works.
@diptansu What's your fixation on "liberals"? Are you aware that many of the lawyers you're referring to are Republicans? You do know that because I already told you that. @artemesia
@GottaLaff@artemesia There may be a few Never Trump Rs who also made this mistake. But that is immaterial given that their number is much fewer than Democrats and liberals who are against Trump.
If the main group of people fighting for our democracy do not understand our enemy and how they operate, if they have rose colored glasses on all the time then it becomes extremely depressing. It's like one side in a war who perpetually go to battle thinking the other side is gonna lay down their arms.
