This time in 2022 Lake Mead's water level had reached a plateau and started a steep decline to record lows. In 2024 Lake Mead's water level is soaring relatively with no signs of plateau. Yet the winter of 2021/22 yielded a very average snow pack in the Upper Colorado region just like the winter of 2023/24 looks like it will be. Furthermore Lake Powell is releasing about the same volume of water to Lake Mead in 2024 as in 2022.
