16 January 1900 | German Jewish woman Edith Frank (née Holländer) was born in Aachen. Mother of Margot & Anne Frank.

Incarcerated in Auschwitz with her husband Otto and daughters on 5 September 1944. She perished in the camp on 6 January 1945, 10 days before her 45th birthday.

@auschwitzmuseum I love following you. I do hope that you are getting pictures and names of all of the people who are being killed in Gaza right now too. They are mostly innocent women and children. It’s not millions but it’s 23,000 already and it’s only been 100 days.

I read Anne Frank's diary when I was her age. It was deeply moving because the family was very certainly transported from The Netherlands via my hometown.
But I have never seen a picture of her mother Edith before, one can see the resemblance. Thank you for the memory Auschwitz Museum. It is so important not to forget. 🕯️
