“Police are responding to a #shooting near Union Station in Kansas City, #Missouri, on Wednesday, where revelers gathered to celebrate with a parade and rally for the Chiefs' Super Bowl win.
Two armed people have been detained, according to Kansas City police.” #GunViolence
@GottaLaff I grew up in Miami in the 70s and 80s, when it was MurderTown USA and MFers were using fully automatic weapons and it was safer than going to a fucking parade.
@GottaLaff it was wild. Of course now, my definition of weird is really, REALLY out of alignment with most people’s.
Like when I talk about the couple who let banana spiders build massive webs in the bushes outside their window, because that made the once/week burglary attempts highly entertaining.
No One is a G when a spider the size of your hand is attached to your face like a low-budget version of “Alien”.
@GottaLaff
I’m a KC local and am getting my information from the local news crew on the scene. We’re getting good crowd and overhead shots and the occasional interview with people who were near the shooting, as well as the official lines. 8 gunshot victims, 2 in critical care just reported from one of the closest local regulator hospitals. The children’s hospital has reported in that are multiple gunshot injuries there from the rally.
The official line is that none of the gunshot victims were children, but we have conflicting information on that. So don’t take it as confirmed.
Usually I turn on TV news about 4 pm, often have to turn it off due to overdosing on politics. . . today? Can't watch more gun deaths. Did call my GOP gov, senator, and Dem senator. For what good it does.
10 victims with possibly multiple children and have been shot and were taken to Children's Hospital... and two other hospitals have received patients...
this was supposed to be a happy and joyous day... and some azzholes with guns ruined it...
@GottaLaff I was watching the local coverage as this happened. Instant chaos, but credit to the local reporters and photographers for getting right in to it.
