so what does this do exactly? connects the fediverse to some proprietary social? first of all, why would anyone care about bluesky? and isn't this exactly what facebook is trying to do?
The solution is simple add them to the ban list, the same way we banned threads
@hrefna i think they need a big press on the ban interactions temporarily button tbh. it's a good button. but people should stop doing this stuff!! gosh
We can have a real conversation about implicit vs. explicit consent, the boundaries of consent, opt-in and opt-out, and what consent in the fediverse looks like.
That's a real conversation that needs to happen and that multiple people have been attempting to have long before this.
These issues? Not how you do it. This is how you make sure that all of the people who you would want to be involved in that discussion and who might actually do something in that space run screaming for the hills.

Its also like if your home instance doesnt match your model of consent where you need to play whack a mole constantly then maybe your home instance needs a patch or two too. Not blaming ppl for not controlling their instance, which is unfortunately too common, but it just seems like a losing battle and that energy could be redirected to fixing the problem so u dont need to deal with things that violate ur expectations and needs
Like, here's the thing: rather than harassment and brigading of one developer who is trying to solve a use case, why not focus your energy on an actual long-term solution.
Support a FEP, talk to the SWICG, file issues on the mastodon issue tracker or support issues there, go read about ZCAPs or the various writings on social networks of consent and the proposals around that
(Don't harass them either. Stop harassing people.)
Or you can just put the tag in your profile or block them
