"There has been much skepticism about whether Trump would or could actually implement the scarier elements of Project 2025. Vance’s selection should put those doubts to rest. If Trump wins, Vance will be the frontrunner for the GOP nomination and will be judged on his ability to make American MAGA."
"Presumably, Trump picked Vance for his vice president because Vance has publicly said he’d do what Mike Pence refused to do — overturn democracy to place America under MAGA control."
"If there was any question about what the rest of this campaign is going to be like, I think we got the answer with the selection of JD Vance. Vance is no dummy and he is probably the most revanchist nationalist choice Trump could have made."
@wdlindsy Trump has effectively chosen the heir to his empire.
This could be the end of any chance that the Republican Party has of recovery after Trump.
It’s time for the centrist Republicans and those who are not committed zealots to break away. A third party will guarantee a Democratic win but might save any future hopes for the GOP.
A new concept for Americans: a coalition government. But it comes with the risk of dividing the non-Trump vote also.
Difficult choices.
@wdlindsy ✋ I would like to suggest that Vance is indeed a dummy..a well-educated and smooth(ish) talking dummy, but a dummy nonetheless. If he were to agree to a debate with (presumptive Democratic VP candidate) VP Harris, she would WIPE THE FLOOR WITH HIM..his rhetoric, his record, his history as a flip-flopper..he really doesn't want that smoke! (now off to read more of your amazing threads!❤️)
