Special counsel’s office is pleading with Judge to reverse to recent unsealing decisions they say would identify two dozen witnesses an expose them to threats.

They say Cannon’s rulings were “clear error” — defying 11th circuit precedent — and would cause ‘manifest injustice’

I suppose it's possible that Cannon got death threats even though Trump loves her. Still skeptical.

I hope she denies it so that Smith can finally ask for her recusal.

    Can recusal actually be forced? (I don't know the process, so the "asking" for recusal part is a mystery to me--no Republican has ever willingly self-recused in this entire mess.)

    As far as I know, it's the circuit judge(s) that can force her recusal if he can show grounds for it. Appeal to a higher court.

    Given that 7 of the 12 judges are , I don’t see them doing anything to curtail corrupt Cannon as long as she’s working for Trump.

    Here, Smith says Cannon gave short shrift to concerns about witness safety despite threats to herself and others that other judges have raised alarms about.

    Among materials prosecutors want fully redacted: FBI interview reports of witnesses who worried about being publicly exposed, testimony that reveals nonpublic details about Mar-a-Lago layout, ID of a WH aide who testified about how presidents review classified info.

    ..Magistrate Judge Reinhart noted the dangerous atmosphere for witnesses in this case when deciding to maintain under seal the bulk of the Mar-a-Lago search warrant affidavit.. In re Search Warrant..“Given the public notoriety & controversy about this search, it is likely that even witnesses who are not expressly named in the Affidavit would be quickly & broadly identified over social media & other communication channels, which could lead to them being harassed & intimidated.”..Reinhart himself has been subj to numerous threats as a direct result of his involvement in this case..This Court has suffered similar death threats..There is a clear & demonstrable pattern in which numerous people “have had their lives turned upside down™ after being publicly identified as a participant in a proceeding involving defendant Trump. The presiding district Jjudge in the election case received a racist death threat; the Special Counsel and his staff have been subject to threats and harassment; the chambers of the justice presiding over the civil fraud case in New York “have been inundated with hundreds of harassing and threatening phone calls, voicemails, emails, letters, and packages™; and potential witnesses against him are routinely subject to the sort of threats that “pose a significant and imminent threat to individuals’ willingness to participate fully and candidly in the process, to the content of their testimony and evidence, and to the trial’s essential truth-finding function.”..

    Cannon needs more death threats from her own party to get the point across. Or maybe she wants all her own party's energies pointed at other potential victims. 🤔

    @GottaLaff I wish I had a big enough brain to know why Smith is even giving her a chance to reverse. If she's really getting death threats, he should have already escalated this to the FBI. She's clearly not "in over her head" but compromised.

    I don't want to be a conspiracy theorist, but I can't shake the feeling that the "random selection" that handed her this case wasn't all that random.😡

    They would start getting threats post haste. Not just phone and email. Remember Stormy Daniels report of her daughter and her being accosted in a parking lot?
