⚠️ If you've posted a poll on Mastodon and you edit the poll type or edit the answers, it will reset the responses back to zero without any warning. So, only edit it if you want to start the poll all over again.

(Weirdly though, editing the question above the poll doesn't reset the poll.)

@FediTips
So we could for instance ask int he poll "Do you like A?" and later change it to "Do you dislike A?" and the answers would remain?

@FediTips It makes complete sense to do so, but it should definitely give warning, that's the weird part.

But the reset definitely makes sense, otherwise you could change what someone voted for, and even if others couldn't see which, they can, and it could be hurtful.

Agreed, it's the lack of warning that's dangerous. No problem at all in the reset itself, it just needs to check with people first in case they would prefer to leave it as-is.

@KayOhtie @FediTips But you could, say, change the question from 'do you like ice cream' to 'are you a terrorist' without resetting the results?

Yup, it's very strange that they don't reset for editing question but they do reset for editing answers.
