@hermes It’s occurred to me early in each thinking session that it needs to be centered on “life,” as opposed to the abstraction that “spirit” represents. Even though “spirit” is NOT an abstraction in the Hebrew or Chinese translations I might use, I still think the English term has to do that whole “embodiment” job, get it into the “biology” cluster of concepts, and also account for “consciousness”/“experience”/“subjectivity,” which fortunately science writers are beginning to do successfully.
