@epidiah Spider Man: Into the Spider-Verse won 52 awards. Since it’s the only distinct story containing all Spider Men, we can extrapolate that the popularity of the film represents the popularity of Spider Man as an independent concept. The Ur-Spider Man if you will. So Spider Man at level 1 has 52 “hit” points. Interestingly, Across the Spider-Verse won 117 awards so level 2 Spider Man is actually doing better at 117 “hit” points.

@epidiah As the song informs us: "Spider-man, Spider-man / Does whatever a spider can / Spins a web, any size / Catches thieves, just like flies."

So "whatever a spider can" and "spins a web, any size" clearly mean that Spidey has hit points matching the HD of the largest spider available.

The 2e Monstrous Manual lists Phase and Sword Spiders as having 5+5 HD => 45 HP (plus any applicable bonus for a high CON).
