This time of year reminds me of soemthing that happened many, many years ago, which I was much younger - probably early 20's. My family was setting off fireworks in the street and someone lit one of the cones that shoots sparks and screams. My dog at the time was cool with fireworks - she was outside watching them too. But something about this one annoyed her and she sprinted over and started biting it. I was close behind and tackled her to keep her away. She ended up with some singed fur on her chest, but no other real injuries. I've had 2 dogs plus my current dog lacie that have full lives since then. I keep learning.

@jerry Dogs are pretty sensitive to high frequencies. I'm guessing your dog was just trying to get the fireworks to stop screaming. I feel the same way about those. The super high frequencies will have me curled up in a ball because it hurts so much.
