In a landmark ruling, the Supreme Court has found that United Utilities can be held to account for the damage caused by sewage discharges.

The ruling has set a watershed precedent which now breaks the shield around polluting water companies – leaving them open to a potential deluge of legal action.

Well done, the Good Law Project and the Environmental Law Foundation.

@junesim63

Some utility company failed to make their payments to a corrupt Supreme Court Justice or Tory apparatchik.

They'll likely rectify that upon appeal.

It's unlikely this ruling arose from civic minded law, because six Supreme Court Justices are indifferent to sewage contamination of the water supply.

Ditto a Tory parliament.

@Npars01 @junesim63 That's not the US. That's in the UK.
