I have a new boss. It worries me that she sent an introductory email saying 'please be assured I'm not arriving with any agenda or preconceived ideas', it makes me think that she's doing exactly that.
@RolloTreadway I'm going to try to be generous in suggesting that maybe she's recently completed some kind of "how to speak like a manager" course, and is now using what she's learnt for the first time.
@RolloTreadway unfortunately it's very easy for people to think that good management is saying the right words, but don't get that it's a two way thing, and they need to listen just as much as they talk, if not more, and back up those words with their behaviour. Let's hope this is just her trying to make a good first impression.
