Kind of excited that there's a new Linux Mint on the horizon that might solve my sound issues.

Kind of afraid that there's a new Linux Mint on the horizon that might not be compatible with my graphics situation.

This is the stuff of adventure!

@epidiah oh yeah they're switching to "pipewire" right? Kinda surprised they weren't there already, it seems like a lot of distros have been using it. I hope whatever is preventing it from working with PulseAudio happens to not prevent if from working with Pipewire.

@spacewizard Yeah, me too!

I mean, I can get the thing I want to work on PulseAudio, but only by hijacking the entire sound system and if I don't remember to put things back the way they were, I have to reboot to listen to things again. So, technically, I can play with sound, but fingers crossed for a more seamless experience.

@epidiah Huh! what's the thing you want to work, that hijacks everything?

@spacewizard

I've been playing around with this: http://overtone.github.io/

But probably more specifically, it's the SuperCollider underneath.

@epidiah seems vaguely like the kind of thing pipewire is supposed to be good at

@spacewizard That's what I've been able to suss out.
