The best thing that ever happened to my writing was getting this iPad + stylus. Forcing myself out of my house, into a space where I can only use a red pen has helped hugely.

I think there is something satisfying about using a red pen (even a virtual one). That it's therefore SATISFYING rather than frustrating to remove/edit your own work makes me happier to do it.

(Yes, I'm writing a novel, despite having not released the first one I wrote yet. Writing: I just really have trouble NOT doing it.)

@vampiress oh, process question: do the cuts in the ipad make their way auto-magically into the source material, or you take this step to get a different perspective on the text and come back later to the source and change it in ways that might differ from the red pen?

always love it when people share their process. someday i'll have the guts as well 😰

@gureito Oh this is me marking up a PDF, so I will later go and make the changes.

I actually kinda like that, because it means another chance for me to look at and re-think the changes I marked.
