Few things feel more defeating than sharing how fed up I am with the President of the United States and getting some canned response about how none of that matters and that the only practical thing to do is vote for them.

“This isn't about your ideals at this point; it's about maintaining power. If you don't vote for them, the bad guys will win.”

“It's basic game theory.”

I'm so tired of getting told that line because I already know that. You know who doesn't?

The President of the United States.

The President is not only above the law but also above moral reproach.

They are above the question of compromising on the ideals they hold dear to their heart to better ensure the preservation of democratic rule in the United States.

As of today, nothing is stopping the President from disbanding the Supreme Court via the powers just granted to them by the Supreme Court.

That is a rational and reasonable flex of their executive authority in this moment of crisis. But they will not do so out of respect for tradition and the expectation of limits on their powers.

The bad guys won't share this sentiment.
