We’ve focused a lot on Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito, for obvious reasons, but I don’t hear nearly enough people talking about the fact that John Roberts is only the chief justice of this court as a quid pro quo for his representation of W Bush in 2000. The compromise of this court began 2 1/2 decades ago. We’ve been so far behind.
