‘Mansplaining’ UK election coverage marginalises women’s concerns, study finds | General election 2024 | The Guardian
“Previously, women’s issues when they appeared in the media would have been around health, mothering, childcare,” said Kay. “What we’re seeing in this election is that women’s issues are being framed around the conflict around ‘gender ideology’. A potential interesting finding is how that focus might be crowding out other issues pertaining to women.”
Finally someone starts to join the dots that the manufactured controversy around trans women's existence is a UK smokescreen for the real gender inequality issues facing women ...
I mean in the BBC head-to-head we saw ‘womens issues’ quite explicitly shut down because ‘time to talk trans’ and that wasn't even pushed by a ‘politician’

Women's rights has recently become in the UK a codified term for transphobia, likely a deliberate strategy to dilute actual discussion of them. Narratives will start to change with a dilution of Tufton St influence, but will MSM editors allow a broad spectrum of feminist voices to speak once again?
