I'm trying to sell a few items on nextdoor.com, and omg, this site (for my area at least) is making me lose faith in humanity (what little I had left).

It's all entitled yuppies being rude to each other.

OP 1: saw some guy roughly dragging a little girl.

Comments: stfu Karen (Karen is OP's name).

OP2: shop owner pulled a gun on us for smoking on the store's steps.

Comments: homeless people are a nuisance, maybe you deserved it.

*Note: if you are on NextDoor and aren't an entitled yuppie, then this post isn't about you.

@alice I once successfully used NextDoor to help find the owner of a lost dog in the neighborhood.

Then I had to give up on it because it’s 99% just people being the absolute worst.
It’s a good way to find out which of your neighbors are gutter racists.

@fuzzbomb OoO, I hadn't thought of that use case! Clever.

@alice
Yeah, in LA it's all just posts trying to track and banish the unhoused. Lovely racism may be found as well.

@alice When it rolled out, I thought it might bring a bit of "local community" to folks who are more used to congregating online than in person now. Wow, no. Everyone brought their Racist, HOA Twitter/Facebook game.

It saddens me I live in and amongst these people.

Not just your area, alas.
