@otterX I have allowed a huge patch to grow close to the house and another smaller one farther away from the house "for the birds".
They are really producing this year despite the dryness. And the fruiting canes in "my" patch have bent down in such a way that I can gather without ending up needing an IV from the Red Cross. Those thorns are nasty.
IMO it is worth it if you can stand it. Maybe control the canes with some string or garden wire in the Spring to make them more accessible. 🍀
