Even before mask bans become law, simply the act of politicians speaking about mask wearers as criminals is stigmatizing a critical public health tool, and encouraging harassment of marginalized groups. That is incredibly reckless and making our cities more unsafe.

@luckytran Never ceases to amaze me how much people will stigmatize something completely harmless

If they were honest about it the crime would be "interference with unfettered economic growth"
Or "undermining the perception the ruling class wishes to create "

@luckytran In Hawaii about 50% of people are still masked. No one cares one way or the other. Diversity rules.

@luckytran Politics 101: If you’re party doesn’t stand for anything, just create a non-issue that you’re going to “solve”.

"Well, well, well. What have we here? A commie solo protester wearing a mask protesting the kinds of things they do, while being sixth in line, lone-wolf protesting, at Target. You're under arrest for masked protesting. Let's go check out your phone, home, computer, floor safe, grandma's robe, and get you fitted for a county track suit and an overnight stay."

@luckytran me in 2023: being almost always the sole mask-wearer on public transport (and with a “flashy” Flomask no less) feels extremely stigmatizing and is making it very hard for me, mentally, to even muster the will to put the mask on…
