Equivalent bandwidth home broadband is half the price of Starlink. The cost difference for just 1 year for 140 million people: ~$100 billion. Excess profit over what others charge. More than double the "waste" being complained about.
@thoughtpunks
MAGAs are always saying that "liberals" (whatever they mean by that) hate rural people, but then they call efforts to get essential infrastructure to people in rural areas "waste".
@btravern also love how his cutting edge brain tech company is using literal 20 year old technology that directly implants wires into the brain, meanwhile another company currently has several people in clinical testing with a blood vessel mesh/stent that requires no brain surgery.
@Tim_Eagon@thoughtpunks would NOT surprise me if it was an attempt to kill 5G in the same way Hyperloop was just an attempt to divert funding for High Speed Rail
@thoughtpunks The only time I would consider StarLink would be if I lived in an extremely rural area and was stuck with, IDK, Frontier ADSL as my only other choice.
