I would also add that when considering a candidate it's important to consider those people with whom the candidate is surrounding him or herself. We should not consider the “president-as-king” angle that is promoted by those pushing for the unitary executive theory of the presidency. Do those cabinet members have a credible claim to truly add value to the roles for which they were hired?
