A sparrow keeps trying to fly through my living room window.

I don't mean that she's confusedly banging into it, not realising it's there.

I mean she keeps flitting and hovering in front of it, trying to find a way in.

Not sure what she's after. Maybe she realises the food is kept inside the house? A few weeks ago, a sparrow got inside my back porch, I wonder if this is the same one.

@RolloTreadway Could be fascinated by its own reflection.

More than likely its standing up for its territory seeing that other very handsome bird in the reflection of your glass.

I have mirrors on an area of my house that looks like it should be a window but its not. And every spring as the bluebirds come through, I have to hang something to distract the bluebirds from fighting themselves in this mirror.

They will spend hours flittering in front of it, banging up against it, sitting off to the side to recover before starting to fight their reflection again.

Once they have their attention distracted, they soon forget about that other bird. Also it depends on how the sun is reflecting as well.

@RolloTreadway sometimes they pluck spiders and the like from around our windows. Could that be it?

@RolloTreadway We get birds doing this, usually blue tits. I have no idea what they’re up to. We have to erect a mesh screen when we open the windows, otherwise they inevitably fly in.
