And it gets worse from here. Third and final case is Garland v. Cargill. This is the bumpstocks case. 6-3. Thomas opinion. Republicans v. Democrats. Republicans say that mass shooters should get to have their bump stocks to make it easier to kill our children.
For all you "Maybe Amy Coney Barret has a heart and isn't a Handmaid" people... she joins the death cult here.
Interesting also that Roberts gave this BILLIONAIRE REPUBLICAN DONORS SPECIAL case to Thomas. It continues to show that Roberts doesn't give a crap about Thomas's corruption and, instead, is HELPING HIM show to donors why they should give him vacations and rides on their jets.
Sotomayor dissenting: "Today, the Court puts bump stocks back in civilian hands. To do so, it casts aside Congress's definition of 'machinegun' … When I see a bird that walks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, I call that bird a duck. A bump-stock-equipped semiautomatic rifle fires 'automatically more than one shot, without manual reloading, by a single function of the trigger.' Because I, like Congress, call that a machinegun, I respectfully dissent."
@YouGiveMeFever
I don’t know that I would count on that. Has anyone done a study asking MAGAts who’ve been victims of mass shootings if they’ve changed their minds about 2A?
@GottaLaff@BruceMirken Automatic weapons are illegal. SCOTUS wardens of a modern, safe society, certifies the equivalent of automatic weapons and the prospect of future mass shootings, “cause we are NRA members and what they like, we like”. 🤔🔥
@tafkak
You meant not one, but a bunch of dead kids at a time, right ? Thats what these assault weapons do. Total cold blooded, inhumane decision by the maga minions on SCOTUS. 😣😠 @GottaLaff @SherBeareth @bkahn
@GottaLaff While it is wildly tea leaf reading, the fact that there are 22 cases left and Roberts and Gorsuch have each only authored two opinions (assuming, very very very generically ~7 opinions for each justice given the 63 cases argued, with some flux), I have to think Roberts will be authoring a number of the most controversial. I suspect U.S. v. Trump will be a mixed decision that immunizes some acts if closely related to official acts, but ultimately remands to the DCT for further development of the record (even though there really isn't much there to develop). A win for delay, but not absolute immunity.
@noondlyt Right now just waiting 6 weeks for the owners of our new digs to move out. So not really settled in, other than being in the townhouse we've lived in part time for 2 years now.
But it's so good to be here. I'll enjoy it once I feel better. I got sick the day after we arrived.
@GottaLaff I’m past even knowing what to say anymore. This country values guns over lives? We’ve been saying that for years. A large majority of Americans support these bans and other restrictions? Yeah, we know, and f*** all good that does. If we want a better country, we have to take it back - many times over, at all the levels, not just in one presidential election.
@GottaLaff
It's too bad those SCOTUS imitation justices don't have school.aged kids .....maybe being exposed to a school shooting drill would wake their ass up on a much more personal level...
Mom ! Dad! We had to have a drill and I'm scared...
A conversation that will never happen with those Nine Pussies of the Potomac.
Maybe but doubtful.

@GottaLaff why do we rarely get the details of which justices for or against issues. There should be a detailed listing of votes and the positions of individual justices. There should also be a “scorecard” of justices votes on a monthly basis as well as yearly.
@GottaLaff Wow...so essentially machine guns are now legal in the US...insane. Bump stocks convert a semi-automatic rifle into behaving like a machine gun. Hold down the trigger and it keeps firing...400-800 rounds a minute. Bump stocks were outlawed after a single shooter in Oct 2017 used them to fire more than 1,000 rounds, killing 60 people and wounding at least 413 in 11 minutes.
@GottaLaff
Poll: in hindsight, which Supreme Court will be considered the worst in U.S. history? (Googling first is not just OK, but preferred! The answers aren't as simple as one might assume!) Choose up to two. #LawFedi
@GottaLaff
They want people to kill eachother what other conclusions can be reached, sure they have excuses as to why, but the end result fire arms deathes
