What do people actually want in terms of a sci Fi or fantasy world for ? Yes, it's a broad question.

@Jackgiantkiller
I'm pretty sure for any given person it is going to depend on the mood they happen to be in at that moment.
Like I have many different hungers, and there's no real way to fit them into a single setting except through some vague multiverse handwaving. And even then, I probably wouldn't want to directly combine some themes and tones.

@PTR_K Legit.

@Jackgiantkiller Sources of conflict that invite story. 13th Age is well worth reading just for the worldbuilding, with more than a dozen situations balanced on a knife’s edge, waiting to be toppled.

@Jackgiantkiller The world should evoke the sense of wonder, even if it’s very similar to our own. (e.g.: Max Gladstone’s Craft Sequence books are full of familiar tropes like ATMs and coffee-shop franchises and lawyers wielding entirely too much power, but what a depiction!)
