OK, so it turns out Delhi Airport is EFFICIENT. I sat in a corner and mulled over fog (the cause of my missed connection), when my phone pinged with a new flight reservation: at 5:20am.
So maybe Delhi Airport was TOO efficient.
I was booked into an incredibly nice hotel, but with an airport shuttle booked for 2am.
I walked up to my room door, pondering the very long day that was going to begin rather too soon, and… entered to see a guy exiting the en-suite 😳
I knew it had to be since the keycard had worked to open to door. The surprising human addition to the room checked the number, confirmed he too was in room 314… and invited me in.
I declined 😑
Upon reappearing at reception, I was given a new room key and someone came up with me to ensure that this room was indeed single occupancy.
@grb090423 on reflection, it doesn’t make you feel particularly safe, despite the very swanky nature of the hotel! Fortunately, this didn’t really occur to me until this morning 😅
@elizabethtasker@neckspike Likely some kind of scam. Good that you got out of it, I can totally see someone very naive thinking they had no choice or seeing it as an opportunity, staying and getting blackmailed for it later. 🙄
