(cringes) Maybe it's just me but I don't get many of those, and when I do I just block and go about my day. To me it's just not a big deal you know?
There's a massive influx on Lemmy of fake accounts that are spreading the idea that as good leftists we shouldn't vote for Biden because he's terrible, and nothing bad can possibly happen from that, and they're pretty consistent and pretty obnoxious about spreading that message
I'm very sure that reasoning with them is a stressful and useless endeavor, but if it makes you feel any better, I'm pretty sure they're not actual humans; I think the real human population on Lemmy is mostly sensible and I would bet Masto is the same
That account that replied to you has been complaining about Democrats since long before this is it’s doubtful they were planning on voting anyway. We’re not losing anything and apparently can’t gain them no matter what so 🤷🏻♂️

I’m in the same place you are. Biden, with all of his faults will do a better job of anything related to the Presidency than Trump would.
And like you, I’m in my 50s and secure financially and also have the benefit of living in a well-run state. My life under Trump will be not great due to the crap Republicans pull and the environmental problems, but many people will be fine. Joe Biden will be fine.
A lot of people won’t be fine and the attack accounts sure do not care.
Have you read "On Tyranny" and about Project 2025? It might be that most well-off people will be fine, and it'll only be the vulnerable that suffer, but I definitely don't think that that's certain.
