@ai6yr 16 hours no power so far. Not sure why, we're right next to refineries, and all power lines are buried. Far East side of Houston

I saw some photos of high voltage transmission towers having been destroyed. That has to have put some limits on power available to distribute to Houston.

I don't know if these lines impacts you directly, but maybe your lack of power is due to similar damage to the transmission grid.

Washington post reports a total of 10 transmission towers were toppled, and that restoring power to everyone may take weeks.

Which is bad given the weather prediction for high heat & humidity.
